I really am inspired by all of my Endo Sisters! Hearing all of your stories and struggles makes me what to keep doing what I'm doing for all of us! Raising awareness any chance I get!
I recently starting to use mindfulness as a tool to use to control my mind, body and pain. I have found it really helpful. At first I will admit I thought it was a bunch of BS. Mind over matter my ass. If you stick to it and actually try it can be very helpful. One of the main things that I have been trying to be more aware of is my gratitude for everyday life. The things we usually take for granted are things that some people are not lucky enough to have!
How am I feeling today? I feel anxious for some reason I can't figure out. I have cramps that feel like I'm getting my period but I don't get periods anymore. I feel off... Do you ever just feel off and you don't know why or how to explain it.
Endo definitely teaches you a lot of things!
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.
“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.” Anxiety disorders are a group of mental disorders characterized by significant feelings of anxiety and fear. Anxiety is a worry about future events and fear is a reaction to current events. These feelings may cause physical symptoms, such as a fast heart rate and shakiness. Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed.
One of the reasons that I started Endometriosis and me was to distract myself from my pain, depression and loneliness. I also like coloring, watching movies, cuddling my dog. When having a difficult flare up and need to distract yourself! I- Imagery (movies,tv)
