What is the Livia?
The Livia is a technology that is based on the gate control theory. Livia transmits a pulse that keeps the nerves “busy” and prevents the brain from receiving the pain signal. When the Livia is on it sends the vibration to you brain rather than the pain. This means that the nerve gateway is closed and pain signals aren’t passed through the nerve or felt.
Livia is the same as a tens machine, which sends electrical pulses through the skin via the electrodes that you place where the pain is located. These pulses interrupt the pain signals that your nerves are sending to you’re brain. This electrical pulses travel faster to the brain than pain signals do.
Livia may also help with reducing spasms or mood swings, increase feelings of well being and allows you to carry out your day a little easier.
What you get in the box
The box comes with the Livia device and a classic cover that you pick. The Livia also comes with the electrodes and two extra sets of gels for the electrodes. It comes with a little white plastic carrying case.
What I liked about the Livia
The Livia is small and sleek enough to fit pretty much anywhere you would wear it. It’s easy to hide under your clothes. I love that you can get a bunch of different skins for it. You can match your mood or your outfit.
The Livia is really easy to use as it only had three buttons. You can turn it on and off as well as up and down. Just apply the electrodes to your skin, attach the electrodes to the Livia, turn the device on and adjust to the level that’s best for you and use up to 12 hours.
The ordering process is easy to follow and the package comes quickly via UPS. The shipping is reasonably priced too. When I opened it I saw a clean and beautiful package that is eye catching and colourful.
You can use pretty much any android charger to charge it and it holds the charge for almost two days of use.
What I didn’t like about the Livia
There were only a few things that I found as negatives. One was that the wire for the electrodes was very short of you wanted to use it for your back. The buttons and connection between the Livia and the electrodes could be a little touchy. Another thing that would be improved in the carrying case, it’s a little small to fit the Livia and the electrodes.
What you can expect
The Livia is expected to provide relief within a minute and feel like gentle vibrations.
My experience with the Livia
The Livia was actually really great. I was skeptical at first but it turns out it’s really helpful. It feels like a gentle massage or vibration that’s really relaxing. It works good for my back and pelvic area to dull the endo pains. I didn’t find it affective when in full endo flare and still needed to take meds and go to bed.
I used it for more than just my endometriosis. I did a hard gardening session at my friends house and used it on my shoulders after and it worked really well to loosen up those tense muscles from having to shovel heavy dirt.
My boyfriend said that he had noticed an improvement in me slightly physically but saw an uplifting and positive affect on my attitude.
Who’s it recommended for/not recommended for
I would totally recommend thus device for anyone over 16 and old to ease their endometriosis or period pains. It could be a good way to reduce pain medication.
It’s not recommended for everyone. If you are Pregnant, have a heart condition or have had a recent surgery I won’t use it. it’s not going to work the same for everyone but it’s worth a shot!
